The Tiny Voice Said

Her best days as a writer one might say long gone
But a small voice within her tells her to write on
With anti ageing creams and hair dye you may cloak time's decay
But never you never give writing away
You may no longer be rated as the best in the town
But on paper you are never too old for to write your thoughts down
Though the critics dismiss you as one out of date
And younger writers than you are lauded as great
The spirit of life in you is far from dead
You carry on writing the tiny voice said
You are never too old for to have your say
And because of your years why give writing away
And though in the twilight of her life span
She will go on writing for as long as she can.
