Fond Memories Of South Gippsland

Fond memories of South Gippsland I always will retain
And in my flights of fancy I visit there again
In Summer the hills of Archies Creek are looking gray to brown
Overlooking the ocean at Kilcunda close to Wonthaggi Town.

On the coastal drive between Inverloch and Cape Paterson many a breath taking view
And beautiful Harmers Haven it's equals are so few
Thousands of centuries before Gippsland got an explorer's name the home of the Bunurong
They celebrated their great love of Nature in their corroborees and song.

Of my many walks in Baxter's Land fond memories I recall
The grey roos bounding up the hill through the bracken knee high tall
From the bird hide near Baxter's Lake many water birds to see
In a Sanctuary for Nature for the wildborn and the free.

So many good things about South Gippsland far too many for to name
But the past has gone forever and few things stay the same
And I am getting older and to father time I bow
But the present is what matter and we do live in the now.
