The friendliest person who lives on the street
She smiles and says hello to everyone she meet
She always seems happy and cheerful and bright
The cares of the World on her seems so light.
Perhaps in her late sixties or early seventies maybe
I've never seen one quite so happy as she
So much joy around her and so nice to know
And happiness follows where-ever she go.
Of average height and short hair silvery gray
Her face it lights up when she bids you good day
A smile doesn't cost a thing those of wisdom say
And for endearing one to others it can go a long way.
Unpretentious, unconceited and free of guile
She is one who finds it easy for to smile
'Twould seem that she does not know how to be rude
And I have yet to see her in a sulky mood.
