There's Always One Better Around

Young John he has been to the doctor his right eyebrow needed a stitch
A big fellow down at the local had called him 'a son of a bitch'
And he took offence at the remark and a punchup he couldn't resist
But the other fellow was bigger and he had a much harder fist.

The brawl was over in less than a minute when John he lay flat on the floor
And he quickly lost interest in brawling or thoughts about evening the score
He had won a few bar brawls but this time he had met with a humbling defeat
But everyone sooner or later with one better than him will meet.

The big fellow who beat young John up was brawling again yesternight
But this time he came out the loser and he was hammered in the fight
Perhaps he had not learned the lesson that there's always one better around
There's always one bigger and stronger and he's not that hard to be found.

Young John has a stitch in his eyebrow from a right upper cut he went down
And he had met one better than him in his local pub in the town
And there's always one better than you and to find him you won't travel far
Some times you don't have to go further even than your own local bar.
