Mo Mowlam

Mo Mowlam was a clever politician far brighter than her ex boss Tony Blair
She brokered a peace deal between Sinn Fein and the Ulster Loyalists in Northern Ireland, people like her have always been so rare
She did what many people thought impossible the broken dream of Irish peace she did repair
She believed in the courage of her convictions and she succeeded where others might despair

Of ever achieving peace between the warring factions Mo Mowlam did what others could not do
She kept Sinn Fein and the Ulster Loyalists talking her dream of Irish peace she did pursue
And for that she will always be remembered by good example the brave lady led
She talked to people that some refer to as terrorists fortune favours the brave it has been said.

Mo Mowlam is no longer the M P for Redcar in two thousand and one she gave politics away
She says for peace we have to talk to terrorists and I for one agree with what she say
If Western Governments are serious about peace they must talk to Al Qaeda to sacrifice their pride for peace the price they have to pay
You cannot have peace without talking to your enemy that is the truth they have to face one day.

Mo Mowlam is a woman in a billion of singing her praises one could never tire
She achieved what others thought was quite impossible about her there is so much to admire
She helped to heal the scars of war in Northern Ireland when you talk of her you talk of a true great
In decades from now people will look back and remember and say Mo is one we ought to celebrate.
