When I Am Gone Forever

When I am gone forever and in Nature's bosom lay
I do not want those who know of me to for me kneel and pray
Since their prayers won't bring me back to life why waste their time on me
And praying for dead people seems such a waste of energy.

When I am gone forever some who knew me well might say
He is with the forgotten and he too had his day
He was not good at anything he lived, slept eat and died
And he did not have achievements for to remember him with pride.

When I am gone forever I wish to be forgot
Just let me be to rest in peace that's not asking a lot
Bury me in a shady place where wildflowers bloom in Spring
In Mother Nature's garden where song birds pipe and sing.

When I am gone forever I need not worry then
About the World I now live in that is ruled by selfish men
I will be past all feeling in the land of the dead
And I will not be worrying if unkind things of me are said.

When I am gone forever on me don't waste your tears
Since better people far than I gone and forgotten for years
I will have had my innings and life it will go on
And birds will sing in Spring-time long after I am gone.
