Bill feels he is a fair dinkum Australian
He says I'm Aussie born and bred and grown
It's not my fault that my dad came from Ireland
From County Kerry by the Paps of Shrone.
My mother and her parents are Australian
As were their parents many years before
And all of my maternal side have lived here in Australia
For at least one hundred years or maybe more.
I have travelled far in this great land Australia
I have been to Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth
I have been to Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin
And seen Uluru the grandest sight on Earth.
From the vast Kimberleys south west to the Flinders ranges
Of Western Australia Land of changing scenery
Wild Kakadu and the Daintree Rainforest
In this great Land there is so much to see.
My father often talks about Sliabh Luachra
Of the great bards and musicians that lived there
But I'm an Aussie and I love Australia
And my favourite song 'Advance Australia Fair'.
I've never been to lands beyond Australia
Like the savage 'I love my native shore'
My dad came from the Cork and Kerry border
And he still talks of his Hometown Rathmore.
There's much to see and do in this big Country
And of others Lands I know little at all
I barrack for Collingwood the famous Magpies
And my favourite game Australian Rules Football.
Bill feels he is a fair dinkum Australian
He says I'm Aussie born and bred and grown
And it's not his fault if his dad came from Kerry
From that old land around the Paps of Shrone.
