They Judge You Better

I do not have important thing to say
And so few read my verses anyway
And I have wasted hours of precious time
In search of inspiration for my rhyme.

In this age and time it's money matters most
And to be poor of such one should not boast
For in a capitalist society
You are judged a failure if you're in poverty.

It doesn't matter if you live quite pure
You are judged to be a failure if you're poor
Your moral standing to much doesn't amount
They judge you better by your bank account.

Poor James the battler has no easy life
He has to carry on without his wife
She died and left him with young family
Two boys of five and six and a girl of three.

Of his young children he has to take care
He quit his job and now lives on welfare
But some have set themselves up as his judge
And his rights to Government benefits him begrudge.

The 'I'm all right Jack' is doing quite okay
He drive a merc my business growing he say
In the World of big business he compete
Whilst his employees struggle just to make ends meet.

His employees are amongst the lowly paid
And he's the one who gets the accolade
Doesn't matter if you cheat lie or exploit
If you are wealthy you're judged as all right.

If you are poor of such you should not boast
For money is the thing that matter most
And your moral standing to much doesn't amount
They judge you better by your bank account.
