They are referred to as the honorable but by honour they are not known to live
When a reporter asks them a straight question an ambiguous answer they do give
Never trust a politician some are known to say
Respect to the truth few of them known to pay
That they are elected to Parliament by the majority of the voters does seem a sad thing
And so many their praises seem willing to sing
Their greatest enemies within their own parties though their opposition they attack
In credibility and honesty they are known to lack,
We elect them to Parliament and trust them to lead
But in few political statements believe all you read
When asked an honest question avoidance they choose
They fear that a truthful answer might cause them to lose
Votes at the next election that would cost them their Parliamentary Seat
The fear of losing power inspires in them deceit.
