In the mid sixties she was Meeniyan's rose
And she looked well and she wore expensive clothes
And her nut brown hair she retains with the aid of dye
Still she looks her years though that she may deny.
And though face lifts and hair dyes all ageing signs can't hide
Meeniyan's ex rose will never lose her pride
Of her home town she once was the beauty queen
So beautiful well curved and young and lean.
At twenty years in nineteen sixty two
As Meeniyan's rose her reputation grew
But she too is losing out to father time
And she is many years beyond her prime.
She now lives far from that old Gippsland Town
Where her great beauty once won her renown
Yet despite the dye she use to brown her hair
The years have left her looking the worst for wear.
Her better days one might say in the past
But then it does seem nothing ever last
Now in her early sixties she once was Meeniyan's rose
She had her day and that's life I suppose.
