They cut away the forest for to build a bigger town
Strong men with chainsaws came one day and cut the tall trees down
It took a century of years for those big trees to grow
But for men with chain saws to cut them down it took a day or so.
The birds and animals have fled their homes razed to the ground
And they must fight for new territories if homes are to be found
And they lose out to humankind when man invade their space
The trees that sheltered them have gone and houses in their place.
Before the buzz of the chain saws wild creatures flee in fear
And forest keep on dwindling getting smaller by the year
And many species are endangered and far too few who care
And as they lose their habitat to man wild creatures become rare.
As dead as the Dodo you've heard that saying it's still relevant today
And animals become extinct as woods are cut away
And extinction is forever and sad am I to say
That for man and his development poor Nature has to pay.
The towns keep getting bigger and development ongoing
And much talk of global warming and the ozone hole is growing
And men with high powered chain saws come to cut the tall trees down
And dispossess the animals for to build a bigger town.
