All Souls Night

In ancient Hibernia on All Souls Night 'tis said
The spirits of the deceased awake from the dead
And walk from their graves on the roadway and street
To their old homes where the deceased friends and families do meet.

A mythological story from centuries ago
On All souls evening in rain, hail or snow
The deceased leave their graves and again come to life
And the deceased man walks the street with his long deceased wife.

In the old church in the Town on All Souls Day
The faithful of the parish for the souls of their deceased do pray
And many believe that on the stroke of midnight
The dead live again till just before dawn's first light

Peep above the hill and light up the dark sky
And the dead return to their graves All Souls Day has gone by
In ancient Hibernia that story is told
A very old myth that is centuries old.
