The Choice Is Up To You

You sired two children and raised them to adults most would consider that as good enough
And you were faithful to the one you married and you hung in there though the going was tough
Despite this your wife left you for another and about it there is nothing you can do
But you too can find yourself another partner 'twould seem on that the choice is up to you.

There's an old saying there's many fish in the ocean so go and catch for yourself another fish
Or on saturday you can watch the football or get drunk at the local if you wish
Why pine for one who does not think about you when there are many mature single women out there
And one of those would surely grow to love you compatible people may not be that rare?

Why some people try to cling to what they cannot have is something I will never understand
We cannot demand loyalty from those we love for loyalty is a thing we cannot command
The wild creature you keep in a cage if it loves you will return to you when you set it free
That is the truest test of love it would seem or at least that's how it would appear to me.

You pine for one who has left you for another though happiness with her you did not find
And she is one who does not think about you though thoughts of her are mirrored in your mind
One would have thought you would feel glad that it was over but what is a weed to one to another is a rose
And in this World there are all kinds of people and one might say that is life I suppose.
