The Fellow From The Land Of The Long White Cloud

Dick Spence would love to go home to New Zealand
If a plane ticket he could afford to buy
He still feels homesick for his beloved Islands
And the nostalgia in him has refused to die.

He's as much as a New Zealander as any Maori
And his kiwi accent is a give away
He'll always be a fellow from the Islands
And he thinks about New Zealand every day.

He came to Australia for to visit his family
And loyalty to family compelled him to stay
But in his heart he'll always be a Kiwi
Love for the homeland never die they say.

Gray haired and tall and lean and very hardy
And looking well for one of three score and ten
He's become known and well liked around Wonthaggi
As one of a now rare breed of gentlemen.

The fellow from the Land of the Long White Cloud now lives Down Under
And he loves his family the loyal family man
And he's saving for a trip home to New Zealand
And lets hope that all for him will go to plan.
