In fancy I hear the silver gulls in the park by the sea shore
And walk on the jetty above the wide beach in beautiful Semaphore
And see the fishers on the jetty casting out a line
A half an hour before nightfall in the fading sunshine
At the tables outside of the cafes on Semaphore road the friends and families meet
To have a chat for a half an hour and relax and drink and eat
And all the while through the main street the cars buzz up and down
Old Semaphore beside the sea it is a busy Town,
I often think of Semaphore with a charm of it's own
As a holiday destination near Adelaide by many loved and known
So many characters live there you see them on the street
The paupers and the millionaires in Semaphore you'll meet
A fondness of old Semaphore is one thing they do share
They love the old Town by the sea they could not live elsewhere.
