The Lust You Had For Life

The lust you had for life is ebbing and your better days you know are gone
But knowing you the towel you won't throw in and to life till the end you'll cling on
Those you love now with the departed their souls may be somewhere out there
Beyond all trials and tribulations and beyond all suffering and care.

Those you love most have gone before you and you have lost your beloved friend
Though quite ill for life she fought on she hung in there till the end
All those years you spent together you loved her and she loved you
For those who outlive their loved one so much sorrow only happens to be true.

The lust you had for life is ebbing and you are getting on in years
And you have known the ache of parting and you have shed your heartfelt tears
And though time is always the best healer the memories with you will stay
Of one you loved the one who loved you until you live your final day.
