Oh you who walked upon the sea and changed water to wine
I wish you'd change the weather now and give us more sunshine
The chilly winds have risen to a cold and icy storm
And I huddle by the fireplace in order to keep warm.
Oh you who died upon a cross on the hill of Calvary
To become the most famous victim of man's inhumanity
Many of those who now pay you homage their own fellow humans persecute
Why do you tolerate those who do not live by your truth?
Oh you who performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes a most amazing feat
Why do you ignore the people who cry out for food to eat?
Each day around the world thousands of malnutrition die
Why are the innocents made to suffer I really wonder why?
Oh you who for the sins of humankind suffered agony and pain
And died nailed to a wooden cross on Calvary and returned to life again
Why do you tolerate those men of war who drop their bombs from the sky
And maim and kill poor people and their homes and streets destroy.
