At times during the night they make a lot of noise
Above my bedroom on the galvanize
The males engaged in a territorial fight
They hiss and growl as each other they claw and bite
Cats on the prowl of adult brush tail possums stay well clear
Their razor sharp claws are weapons for to fear
For dog, fox or cat there are far easier prey
Than big brush tail possum in his cloak of grey
In dark tree cavities and ceilings they hide themselves away
These creatures seldom seen in light of day
On the galvanize roof at night a loud racket they make
And i curse them as in bed i lay awake
And all through the night the males claw and snarl and bite
As they engage in a territorial fight.
