Through undergrowth where tree fern grow
Through Selby wood the brown creek flow
From wooded heights it journey down
To flatter parts near Belgrave Town.
The mountain ash on the steep height
From Selby creek block out sunlight
And by mountain ash and mountain gray
The small creek downhill winds it's way.
By woodland creek on blackwood tree
The crimson rosella family
Pipe softly in the freshening breeze
I love their pleasant melodies.
The grey shrike thrush with flute like song
In Selby wood sing all day long
Down to the creek to bathe and drink he fly
And then back up to branch to preen and dry.
From upper Selby and on down
To flatter parts near Belgrave town
And by mountain ash and mountain gray
The woodland creek it winds it's way.
