An Addictive Rhymer

I will never be known as a wordsmith of song
My rhymes they just jingle and jingle along
My best days in life you have said it long gone
But addicted to rhyming i keep penning on.

In my mid to late twenties at the height of my prime
I became addicted to the penning of rhyme
And i can't stop penning of that i won't lie
To rhyme i will be addicted till the day that i die.

I may never be seen as one worthy of note
Or know of the respect that's reserved for a poet
And though in Big Brothers eyes only the successful do win
For to have an addiction should not be a sin.

An addictive rhymer that and nothing more
For people like me there's never an encore
But I'll never give my addiction away
For i will be penning until my dying day.
