The Too Trusting Rosellas

When fed seed by the well meaning they do become trusting of people
Which in a sense seems a small shame
They perch on heads and eat seeds from hand
And for their own good do become too tame

For greedy person for financial gain may capture them
And for good price to a bird fancier them then sell
For crimson rosellas are very popular aviary birds
And from capturing and selling wildlife some do financially quite well.

With red and blue and mottled brown through crimson on back
In their natural state great beauty they display
And that they should be captured and sold does seem rather cruel
But people who lack in empathy behave in such a way.

Around parks and garden bird feeders they quickly grow tame
And they perch on humans and of them lose all fear
And bird poachers advantage of them do take
Capture them and sell them of such stories are sad to hear.
