Soon I may say goodbye to the bare countryside
To the flat and stony paddocks that stretch far and wide
North, south, east and west of the small town by the old stony hill
The lust for wander leaves me restless as the clear flowing rill
That flows to the river that flows to the sea
I've so little time left and so much for to see,
I am getting older and to father time I bow
And I will be an old man in ten years from now
I yearn for places from here far away
Though in the old stony country I've enjoyed my stay,
The roads out of here will take one to somewhere
And there's so much to see in the big World out there
The bug of the wander in me does remain
And I long to be back on the roadway again.
