He felt like a complete stranger in his Hometown
The main shopping centre he walked up and down
But none recognized him and none said good day
To them he was one from a town far away,
One face in the town he did not recognize
And the many new buildings to him a surprise
It did not remotely resemble the town he did know
The town that he left some three decades ago,
He scarce could believe all of the changes he see
A stranger in your Hometown how sad that must be
In the town he grew up in his was a stranger's face
And even in his old neighbourhood he felt out of place
And though in the Town Park birds did whistle and sing
He felt amazed at the changes three decades did bring.
