They Only Killed Creatures Out Of Necessity

They only killed enough of fish, birds and animals to insure their own survival and what they did kill they did eat
For their women their elders and children they had to hunt to bring home meat
They hunted with spears, bows and arrows nowadays men hunt with a gun
Which puts the hunted at a great disadvantage as no living creature a bullet can outrun.

Most hunters now kill for fun not for survival and they do not eat the creatures they kill
They hunt wild pigs and deer at the weekends and they only do it for the thrill
They only kill for the thrill of killing and they even shoot creatures that are rare
One could not call them friends of Nature when for Nature's creatures they don't seem to care.

Every creature of life has some purpose so why take their lives without cause
Men who hunt and kill creatures call themselves sportsmen because they hunt within human made laws
If killing creatures is their main sense of enjoyment how empty their lives seem to be
Some even may see them as heroes but they'll never be heroes to me.

The Aboriginal tribal people were hunters and gatherers and were true friends of Ocean and Land
And Mother Nature was their Goddess and her ways they did understand
They only killed creatures out of necessity nowadays they kill creatures for fun
They gun creatures down for enjoyment and leave them to rot in the sun.
