One cannot help but admire the reaper the reaper doesn't differentiate
The rich and the poor he treats as equal your money will not buy him as your mate
He will claim us sooner or later with him you and I have a date
And though we may feel robust and healthy for us he is prepared to wait.
One cannot help but admire the reaper since fairness of him cannot be denied
And though we may do our best to avoid him from him there is nowhere to hide
He does not have a sense of humor he doesn't even know how to smile
But he doesn't look up to the wealthy and famous and he is one who is free of guile.
I grudgingly admire the reaper though he is one who doesn't have a friend
And though you may avoid him for ten decades he will catch up with you at the end
He does not allow for your greatness he cuts people down in their prime
He takes the young as well as the old the reaper as old as father time.
One cannot help but admire the reaper although of him we live in fear
All living things become his victims he is the cause of grief and tears
But he is one who doesn't have favourites and to egalatarianism he reamains true
He claims the monarch as well as the pauper and for that alone credit he is due.
