The man from Warrenheip street some great stories did tell
In Buninyong in the eighties at the Buninyong Crown Hotel
He is such a marvellous character and people like him few
And to life's higher principles he always remained true.
The fellow known as Nuffa I ever will recall
One who could talk on numerous things from poetry to football
And every one who knew him of him had good to say
A warm hearted person he made new friends every day.
So much about poets and poetry old Kenny Barth did know
He recited Paterson's Bush Christening and Lawson's Cobb and Co
And drank a pot of Carlton and sang an Aussie song
In such exalted company the hours just raced along.
I often think about him where might he live today
From his beloved Buninyong he could not live far away
Perhaps he still lives on Warrenheip Street in his old home for many years
And perhaps in the old Bunny pub he still drinks a few beers.
He was not a very tall man but his heart was far from small
The man from Warrenheip Street one worthy of recall
If every one were like him the world to live in would be good
For the man we knew as Nuffa would only help you if he could.
